Hey every one, today I was at gym, and I was on floor as my last event. I was the last person on floor on my last tumbling pass. I was going for a round off back-handspring back-layout, and my coach had told me that I need to get my feet in front of me in my round off, so I decided to push off my hands more in my round off by going faster. In fact, I ran so darn fast that right before my hurdle I tripped, face planted, and rolled end over end 2 to 3 times. When I look up at my coach, Kaylene, is trying not to crack up as hard as she can. Also, since we were just ending floor, there was all of the gymnasts at our gym and parents watching me completely wipe out.
This incident was so funny, it made me reminisce about all my amazing wipeouts. I was wondering about your funniest and scariest wipeouts on each event.

Please fill out this survey below!

Bars~
Funniest Wipeout- "Forgot" to hold onto the bar in a front hip circle and landed flat on my back

Beam~
Funniest Wipeout- Did a full turn, wobbled, tried to put my foot back on the beam but missed, hit the beam, and did a full spin before hitting the floor
Scariest Wipeout- Missed my hand in a back-handspring and hit my foot and thigh on the beam

Floor~
Funniest Wipeout- Tripped while running and completely wiped out rolling a couple times
Scariest Wipeout- Flipping the wrong way in a back tuck

Funniest Wipeout-my friend tori was going to do her leap pass and totally tripped and landed on her face!!!she also at camp was going to do a front handspring layout on the floor front full onto the resi but her layout landed on the resi and she landed on her head!
Scariest Wipeout-i was setting for i back layout and wasnt going to flip, but in the middle of my set i started flipping i didnt know it until i saw the ground.i wasnt sure where i was.i was fine because it was on to a sting mat and dint hurt but it was kinda scary i guess.

Vault~
Funniest Wipeout-my first front handsping on th real vault my hands slid and i landed on my back. i was at camp and i did a front handspringtuck vault into the pit and landed on my head.
Scariest Wipeout-during the summer i was training yurchanico even though im olny competeing lvl 7 but the rest of my team is in lvl 8 and 9 so we were working on them.so i was just working on the ro bhs part and on the bhs i missed my hands on the FRONT of the vault!!

yep so these are all of my mess ups and then some!

Bars
Funniest Wipeout: Probably all the times I was learning flyaways on the real bars, and would desperatly grab for my coach in the air, then fall on my face(:
Scariest Wipeout: I was doing tap swings, and my hands peeled of the bar on my backswing and i flew OVER the low bar...like a straddle back!

Beam
Funniest Wipeout: Splitting the beam...on a level 5 dismount! Haha, I didn't think that was even possible!
Scariest Wipeout: Missing my hands on my backhandspring.

Floor
Funniest Wipeout: Learning how to twist on the tumble track and landing completly off the mat!
Scariest Wipeout: Bailing out of a tumbling pass while already halfway in the air.

Vault
Funnies Wipeout: Going for a fhs fronttuck vault, but bailing out halfway(:
Scariest Wipeout: Can't think of anything!

Oooh! I just remembered another wipeout of mine!

Vault- Funny Wipeout~ I was doing a tsuk timer into the pit and attempting to land on my back before I would go for a real tsuk. But I had too much power and instead of landing on my back I landed on my head in the pit and got buried to the point where you could only see my legs. My coaches let me flip the next turn :D

The main ones were doing a vault timer, and kicking myself in the nose/eye because I didn't straddle in time, and then on bars doing a drill for a toe shoot to high bar up to a high stack of mats, I landed in straddle sit right on the edge and started to fall backwards, so i was kind of trying to scramble back up, but I couldn't so eventually I just fell down to the floor on my back. For some reason that was really hilarious to me.

Beam, I managed to miss my hands or some other ridiculous thing every other day. Once I missed my hands in a BHS series in a meet and went down all over the place. Once in a meet warm up I did a BHS BT and missed my feet. Then my teammate who had the same series did the same thing during competition. Floor, I don't know, not much is coming to mind. I've done the hurdle fake out trip, tumbling on air floor and I decided I didn't hurdle to have enough space for my RO BHS to fit, so I tried to stop but it was too late.

Funny wipe-out: Doing RO-BHS-BT on the Tumble Trak, where the BT lands on a squishy mat off of the trampoline. I got lost in the air (never having tumbled off the tramp on purpose before) and stopped midair. Luckily, my body pretty much kept flipping and I landed on my knees/stomach, unharmed but a little shaken. My coach thought it was pretty funny. She also used it to point out that rotation in a backflip cannot just STOP - in this case, a good thing.

Scariest: Huh. I don't usually get scared when I fall. Mostly just when trying to do something in which I might fall. I guess today trying a flyaway into the pit...forgot to let go...flipped anyway...did what my coach called a "baby-giant-skin-the-cat".

Funniest wipe out ever: I was on the tumble track doing a fhs front, and I flew out of the fhs, and tried to stop myself, but then just kept moving! I flipped onto my side off the end of the tumble track. My coach was just cracking up!

Scariest wipe out ever: on beam I did a bhs, and my foot slid off, and I straddled the beam, then my head hit it and I completely fell of, in a daze. Dang, that hurt.

Bars
Funniest Wipeout: Layout full dismounts going crazy and landing on my back or side or face.
Scariest Wipeout:I let go really late on a double back dismount and ending up completing both flips over the bar and then coming down and hitting the bar with my shins.

Beam
Funniest Wipeout: Spliting the beam on side somis and landing on my face
Scariest Wipeout:

Floor
Funniest Wipeout: Doing a back full to my face because I twisted way too early
Scariest Wipeout:

Vault
Funnies Wipeout: getting brushburn on my forehead doing a yurchenko
Scariest Wipeout: missing the spring board on a yurchenko

beam: way too many embarrasing ones here. This one time i was doing a korbut, but i managed to miss my hands. I kept going in the normal manner of a korbut, and landed in the same position as korbut does but didnt have such a light landing as one ussually would in this skill. It hurt quite a bit. To add insult to injury a teenage boys tramp class was in the gym at the time and theyve all gone "ooooooooooohh ouch" and stared at me. it was quite embarrasing.

This other one time i was doing a front tuck mount. What i hadnt noticed was that the beam had been lowered for some recreational classes. As i came to land my front tuck i realised that the beam was not where i expected it to be and i kept rotating, i realised i had overotated and tried to twist 90 degrees to the side and land off the beam. This plan failed and i landed on my stomach across the beam, winded myself really quite badly and cracked a rib, my arm was across my body when i landed too so it was slammed between my body and the beam and got quite a bruising.

Floor: well i havent really had any amusing accidents (well yet, hopefully not at all touch wood) but one time i did land on my head in a layout and concuss myself.

Vault: well no wipeouts yet, though once i did miss my hands on a handspring back in level 5. Though probably coming up for some wipouts soon cuz im learning hanspring front.

Bars: This one time on bars i was doing giants on bars. As i came back over in to handstand my elbow colapsed and twisted and fell to the side my coach was not spotting on. I failed to keep my legs together and as i fell to the side i split the bar. My coach was spotting on the otherside on a stack of boxes with his legs on either side of the bar. As i fell he tried to lean out and grab me but the box stack was a little wobbly and he slipped and got a wedgie on the bar. Poor bloke, we teased him about it pretty awfully.

Sorry guys this was probably a really long post in which not much made sense =P

stupidity at the highest level

Most of them have been on floor

1. didn't see a girl running prior to doing tumbling pass and ran across then collided with her as she was mid round off - we were all alright and laughing.

2. doing front handspring step out cartwheel cartwheel and because there were to sting mats joined my hand slipped through the gap so i did a cartwheel on my elbow :P

3. let go with one arm in back hip circle - just twisted out

4. split beam doing cartwheel
