Can anyone explain the scoring/sessions to me for a meet like this? We've got boys from our gym who were there and I was trying to be a supportive team parent by checking out the results. Some of the best boys in our gym (maybe FS boys?) were listed twice, in different sessions. I wondered if maybe this was like "regular JO routines" vs elite routines? Or maybe the top gymnasts from initial sessions then competed against each other to find final champions?
I also noticed that some of the AA scores from lower levels (8) were higher than AA scores from higher levels (10). Is that like...a move that's a high-point move in L8 becomes a low-point move in L10? Are the L10 guys trying tougher moves and not hitting them?
He still has some dizziness, slightly slurred speech at times, and he is extremely tired.Oh no! Poor guy had such a great start. How is he doing now?
Oh no, so sorry. Glad TS went so well. Hope the concussion recovery goes well.DS competed at BlackJack. He won pommel, highbar, pbars and All-Around for Tech Sequences on Friday. On Sunday, he was competing L9. He competed pbars and highbar. When warming up floor, he got lost warming up his 2 and half. He ended up on his back, smacked his head on the floor. He has a concussion.
Oh gosh. I hope he's feeling better soon. It seemed like there were a lot of injuries at that meet. Some of DS's teammates had weird falls. One crashed on high bar snf bit through hisome tongue.
darn! Took DS about 6 weeks to get back to normal after his last year - we did find that it was really important in getting him cleared to return to gym that we see concussion specialists who understood gymnasts - esp when doing balance testing, etc, otherwise they would have sent him back before he could even read again! He still has some dizziness, slightly slurred speech at times, and he is extremely tired.
