Parents Camera??

I am in the market for a good Camera esp now that the girls are more into gymnastics than ever! I want to be able to get good shots of them!! and a little point and shoot does not do it!!!
anyhow I want a good SLR but digital now!! ( i used to have one but its film and it doesnt work as well anymore!! motor is wearing out!)

anyhow what I was wondering what do all you use for taking pics of your girls (or boys) when they are comepeting etc!!! (figuring I will not be too close to them)

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H3 8.1 MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom with Super SteadyShot Image Stabilization

and I'm very happy with it. I got it from a very LARGE online reseller for around $226. Of course, the price is up to $269. It takes beautiful pictures and has decent zoom. Also has video capability - can't actively zoom in or out in video though. You have to pick a zoom prior to video and then it stays at that zoom throughout.

Great still pix though with sports mode, burst mode, face finder, etc.
