So every time a college coach enters the gym, this one girl in my group decides to randomly chuck all of her skills that she never practices. She never really works hard at all but is one of those people that is 100% talent 0% hard work. The coaches are all really interested in her! Then there I am doing all of my skills that I actually practice bc I can't chuck stuff! I really have no natural born talent like her but I work very hard. She's also a 4th or 5th year level10 n I am going into my second! I just feel really jealous of her bc she can chuck so much stuff and make me not stand out as much as she does. Can someone relate?

The question is, when she 'chucks' skills does she maintain good form.

In my opinion (Not a professional opinion AT ALL) I'd think college coaches would rather see consistent skills with good form than a chucked skill that can only be landed/caught every few times with awful form.

Otherwise, simply work hard and make the skills you DO have look flawless and effortless. You'll be noticed.

Well if she's been at level 10 longer than you, it's to be expected that she will have more skills! Don't focus on her chucking skills, focus on bettering yours. Try not to tear her down for what she does, make yourself feel accomplished for what YOU can do!

Just a side note/opinion, I honestly believe that you CANNOT get to level 10 on just talent. She has to be putting in hard work just like you, talent only gets you so far.

I know this is hard for a teenager (I think thats what you are) especially in gymnastics, not to compare yourself to others. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, or last week, or a year ago. Look at how far you've come from who you were back then?
