I don't crow too often here, not even for my own daughter, BUT.... Our Level 8 is State Champion and Regionals bound! Such a sweet experience for her. We fought some self doubt issues this year and once again she has proven she is among the best in our state and worthy of her status. We have a small state but that in no way overshadow's her success! So proud of her!
Still didn't compete the tsuk, just not there and not worth it. Competed a clean handspring and took the safe score. Now three more weeks to Regionals. Time will tell what come there.
Oh, and there was one moment were she scared the bejeezus out off us. Came in timed warm ups on bars taking the "time" called a little too literal. She was just climbing on the low bar to squat on and do another high bar set when the time remaining was called at 10 sec. Took a few seconds to get situated, squated on, long hang kip missed straddle to HS was at about 70%. Usually she just commits to the giant regardless the cast height. Heard the timer say "time" and only swung part committed, but didn't kill her swing. Swung up stalled out at about horizontal, hands slipped off, was heading head first to the floor. Don't know how she managed to cat flip/twist to her back but popped up not shaken at all. Meanwhile there was a line to the bathroom for many of us watching to change our britches. Just joking... but it was an amazing save. Her turn up, made her pirrouette, hit her HB HS swung clean and won bars too! SWEEEEET!
