I generally need to have a glass of wine before I feel brave enough to wash THE Leo

This year's practice Leo has instructions on HOW to wash it out the wazoo! Hand wash, saltwater, etc. I'm thinking I might request an easier one next year!! Lol. But yes, alcohol really does help.

Ha! For a second I thought you were washing the leo in alcohol

I have a 8 yr old who doesn't really sweat. I've been guilty of only washing the bottom half of her competition leo to hold me over a little longer on a "full wash".

Talked to the gym and luckily they had a girl quit so they have an extra Leo in her size they swapped out, and they are sending the one we had back. Thanks everyone!

Washing DD's leo this year wasn't my problem, it was her blasted warmups! They are GK and black and white and the black bleeds something awful. I hand washed them and literally the water would come out black. Ridiculous.

What did the directions say? I think sometimes it's better to wash in the machine and hang to dry.

of they do bleed alone in a machine they have a larger volume of water to rinse in so less chance of the colours running

You can get those colour- trapping sheets to go in a wash- no idea if they work though. I always hand wash after each wear but for us it's only 2 Leos per week and I didn't have to sell a kidney to buy either of them!

The directions were to hand wash. Though I questioned it simply because they were the EXACT same directions as the GK leo. But I didn't want to take any chances.
