My youngest daughter (XB) is 11 years old and has been in Xcel Bronze for 3 years now, I absolutely hate this gym that’s she’s at because one of the coaches is a p*do and the head coach is verbally abusive. My daughter has came back from every gymnastics practice crying because the coaches love to taunt her with the idea that she can go to level 4 next year and practice with the DP kids. But the other night her coach told her she’s not strong and is quote “a pro at complaining”. I badly want to leave this gym but it seems every year the head coach comes to talk to me and says she can go to DP but then never brings it up again. Also we have been told if we leave that no other gyms would like my daughter so they told us we should say. My daughter cried to me saying all she wants to do is make her coach happy but she just can’t seem to. Tell me what I should do please to help her feel better for now. We’ve already signed a contract so we can’t leave until May when the season’s over. Please give me some advice what I should do now.

I don't care if you have a contract, if you are intentionally subjecting your child to abusive coaches and pedophiles, you are now the problem. You are allowing them to be verbally abused. That is child endangerment in my opinion. You are the parent. You need to protect your children. Period.

Leave.
I have contacted usa gymnastics about this coach and I’m waiting for a response. Next closest gym is very far away and m daughter really wants to compete this year. I could put her in cheer but I agree, this behaviour is unacceptable from me and I’m putting my children in danger.

So how are you going to feel when in 10 years your DD calls you sobbing that she just wants to make her husband happy after he’s given her a black eye?

You need to pull your kids out of this gym. NOW. She is relying on you, her parent, to demonstrate what healthy boundaries look like.

Everything you have shared about this place screams red flag from repeating bronze for 3 years to false promises of moving to JO to abusive comments and that doesn’t even touch the comment about puberty blockers and now the new info that the coach is a creep.

Leave. Now.

pls leave that sounds horrible. leave. a kid being healthy is priceless, no amount of money can heal an unhealthy abused child. pls money is not important here.

I’m really trying to get out of this gym and I don’t EVER want to hurt my children intentionally or unintentionally! But it’s seems I am, do I contact the gym or just immediately stop letting my children go to this gym.
