That can be tough! Try to help her see it as an opportunity to be a leader. And it is ok for you to help her set up a time to talk with her coaches about her goals (prepare them in advance!). Hopefully her coaches understand that she might be disappointed and are prepared to help her think about the upgrades she might be able to do and give her opportunities for growth, even if it's different from what she hoped for. I always knew when an athlete might be disappointed in a group placement or level assignment, and tried to be ready to discuss it - honestly I often did it before they asked or even before we placed them.
