Parents Does your daughters gym do eliminations?

My girlie follows a 7yo gymnast (actually it's her Mom that posts but it's all about this little girl)on Instagram. My girlie told me that the girls gym was doing eliminations and the girl was eliminated.

Now, she is worried that her gym will do this(they absolutely do NOT). I've been in the gymnastics community for 30 years and I've never heard of this concept. I've heard of gyms being super selective on who they invite to team. But never a post-season elimination. The Mom made it sound like it was more than her daughter that got dismissed.

Does this really happen out there??

There is a HUGE thread about this right now, named similar to your title. Bottom line, the girl's gym did not to 'eliminations'. I won't go into details, but it's there if you want to read all about it.

Thread closed. This issue has been discussed ad nauseum. Child was not eliminated was the conclusion.

Perhaps IG is not a place for kids.
