Have any of your dd's changed from doing all 4 event to doing just 2 or 3?
My dd is tall and has major ankle issue and her coach told her about becoming a specialist and now she really wants to do I lt because it would mean she wouldn't have to do bars or vault.... And she has been telling me that she would rather quit then do vault another year with the pain( we've done everything for her ankle and nothing is working) she says that floor doesn't hurt as much as vault, I guess my question is what we're your experiences with it? Where they fine with not doing aa? And what level did they start at? ( by the way I'm on my daughters account)

Most of the event specialists I know started specializing in Level 8 or up. Many college gymnastics teams have girls who specialize and even high school teams have event specialists. We will (fingers crossed for FINAL approval) have a high school team for the first time. We have one girl who will only compete Floor. Three years ago, she had an awesome Level 7 floor routine, but her father made her quit in Jr. High so she could be in a sport each season. She did keep tumbling and she is now helping coach our team. Since she is a senior, she is eligible to compete for the high school and can just modify her old routine to fit the requirements (basically Level 8). When she goes to college, she will have the opportunity to be a walk-on ... or she could do NAIGC gymnastics.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
