Yes it does - there are a few deductions that can apply.

Lack of structure to the music
Background music
Lack of synchronicity between movement and musical beat at the end of exercise (which sort of translates as 'music just stops').
A couple of the Olympic Trials routines will attract a couple of those IMO.

I don't know if these apply at the JO level in the USA. In Australia they are applied from level 7 up.

Go to YouTube and google Ellie Black's 2023 worlds floor routine - the video from the preliminary round is the clearest. She's not considered a dancer but the choreography is insanely clever and matches her movement style to the music, and was clearly put together with reference to the code, regarding artistry. She attracted one of the lowest artistry deductions of last years' worlds.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
