What are your DD or DS's goals for 2023?

Let's make this thread open to anyone... 2023 goals!

Great question!

Well... our son just messed up his elbow on a shorted Yamawaki on rings... so for him... it's just to recover from his very recent UCL repair surgery and get back in the game.

Middle daughter would like to try to qualify for Westerns again.

Older daughter is just to have a good and healthy year so she can go off to college for gymnastics.

I don’t have a DD or DS…..because I am 13. However, these are my gymnastics goals for 2023:

Get my aerial back by next week
Get my BHS by May or sooner
Get my front tuck by early summer on floor
Get my FHS on vault without a spot
Get my kip on bars by march
Get my long hand pullover by next week
Connect FHS SO and FHS by march
Be able to do a back tuck by the end of this year. Kind of ambitious, but I know I can do it.

and finally……

never split on beam again XD

My goals:

- Vault: Yurchenko tuck, Yurchenko pike, Tsuk tuck
- Bars: A perfectly vertical cast handstand, double tuck dismount, a high bar to low bar change
- Beam: Back tuck, consistent leaps and turns, bhs-bhs, double back dismount
- Floor: Layout full, 1 1/2, front layout (and improve my terrible front tumbling)
- Tumble track: RO-BHS- double back
- Improve my flexibility

For her: Make XG regionals!
My secret goal for her at the beginning of the year was to make the state team, but at this point, there's no way she's going to be a top 6 scorer. Ah well. Thank goodness I never told her that. I'm still allowed to be proud of her.

My goals:

Vault - Half on half off and Tsuk tuck
Bars - Cast handstand, flyaway, clearhip
Beam - Stick everything, maybe cartwheel cartwheel connection, maybe roundoff, tuck jump 1/2 turn, flutter jump
Floor: FHS-FT, BT on tramp/tumbl trak, switch leap, double turn, single turn with leg out straight
General: middle splits, oversplits, increase stamina and strength
Competition: Place at state, maybe regionals?
Summer: Up train to make High School team
Ultimate goal: High school team

My dd is continually setting goals throughout the season, some have already been met, some are new. She already met her goal of getting her clear hip competition ready. Currently she's working on her full twist on vault and hopes to have it in top shape by state. She is working on her reverse flyaway, though she thinks that won't happen until summer. Other than that, it's working towards skills she needs to move to XD. She expects another year or two in XP, but is hoping to eventually move up.

Her goals: learn every skill the coaches will allow her to try
My goal: for her to have fun, she doesn't need me to push her, she does that herself

This is my son's first year as a competitive gymnast, so our goals are mainly just figuring out the world of gymnastics! He placed in a few events at his first couple meets, so improving on that at his next meet would be great!

My goals are to make it to the next level, get a BHS, convince my coaches to let me compete side handstand on the beam, get a press handstand, a sole circle, a front hip circle, and to get good grades in school (my parents say if I don’t get good grades (B or higher) than I can’t do gymnastics. Also I need to improve my split leap. Thanks

My goals

* Learn more about WAG Level 1 after just passing the UKCC exam, so just get used to coaching and developing the gymnasts.
* Look into MAG or WAG Level 2

My goals

* Get fit and learn the basics of gymnastics - As I'm a big guy so getting flexible and doing handstands, cartwheels, vault, etc is my number one priority

My goals:

Bars:
Giant (by July)
Cast to handstand over the bars (by like, next week)

Beam:

Bigger split jump

Back full on tumble track by June
Front Layout on floor by June
Better switch leap

UPDATE:

I WON SECOND PLACE AT MY REGIONAL SCIENCE FAIR!!!!

GOAL: COMPLETED
and the gift card prize was the cherry on top!
Omg that's amazing! Congrats! :D

I love science but my school doesn't do any science fairs, sadly.

Oh that sucks, maybe email the principal or school district board in a responsible and professional email about possible requesting one If you have a school email.
