Hi guys, I'm just coming here to ask if anyone has dealt with anything similar.
I have peroneal tendonitis with a possible retinaculum rupture. One of my tendons rolls over my ankle and the thing holding it in place snapped.
A few weeks ago I was told that PT for a few weeks would solve it and that surgery would not be needed as I am so young. Well, today I went to the podiatrist again and explained how PT was making the pain worse and that my symptoms had gotten more severe. Now, I need to be in a boot for a few weeks, then a cast for a few weeks, if that doesn't cure it (the doctor said there is a low chance of it getting better but it's worth a try) I would need surgery, then to cast it, then to put it in a boot, then PT for a few MONTHS. Did I mention that I am required to end my competition season (about a week after my mom was pressured to pay hundreds for meets and team fees)?
This is so crappy I can't even explain everything.
This was supposed to be my last season because I'm in an incredibly toxic gym environment and need to leave ASAP but now I can't finish the season. Also, I can't switch gyms because I live in an insanely expensive area and all the other nearby gyms are about $9000 per season (not including warmups, leos, etc) which is astronomical.
Sorry for the rant, anyone experience a similar injury or situation?
