When I watch gymnastics clips all front tumbling passes start with a front handspring step out...whether it is just one FH, or two in a row or a FH FT or FH Front Layout FT or even FH Full.
I have been in cheerleading for quite a while and also in gymnastics, but never competed. I can do RO BH BT an floor and Layout and Fulls into pit. Front Tucks are no problem either.
But Front Handspring stepouts are hell! I just tried them once or twice on air track, but I always kind of twist over one side and land in a squat.
The weird thing is, I can do perfect front walkovers and when I tried front handsprings taking off and landing with two feet (I guess they are called "bounders") for the first time, I got it immediately. But FH stepout...no way.
Of course, I just need more training. But has anyone experienced the same issue? Any tips? Will it take very long to get it?
