Ok those of you who were here last june 2010 know of the issue with our old gym and how we were treated etc.

Recap: Old gym kicked DD of L7 team saying she had no skills at all for gymnastics and if she wanted to say she could do Prep Op.

Any way I get a phone call yesterday and who is it? Yup her old gym!! They want to offer me a part time Job working in the Office!! Ok After all that went on when we left what in their minds would make them think I would take that job? They don't pay anything worth working for and its fri night, Saturdays and coverage for when others take off.

Certainly didn't expect that phone conversation

You know I was thinking that same thing especially since she placed higher than all but on of their L7 girls at States this last season and if they had her on their team they would have placed 1st for their team instead of 2nd.

But there is no way they couldn't know how upset we were even my very quiet husband who never like to make waves and just leave well enough alone spoke up and in not so nice a way back then. It's only been a little over a year. I know If I were the one looking to fill a position there I wouldn't be calling the mom of someone we kicked off a team and gave a hard time to either.

But cher, they wouldn't have placed 1st because your DD likely excelled in her new environment. As much as she loved it there (I read the old thread and love the OLD Thread warning on it lol), maybe they couldn't get her to where the new gym has. They didn't see her potential, and it is their loss.

Okay, that's just weird! Why on earth would they call someone that isn't even at the gym anymore??

And I have to really, really like that your DD out did most of their level 7s! Petty of me, I know.

I just read the old thread and WOW either someone has a seriously bad memory or a really big ego to think that you would ever want to go back there (even for a job). Not in a million years would I send my child back to that gym.

Does your son still work there? Could that be why they thought you might be interested?

It could be. Son was missing coaching the boys team (they do have a good boys team with great people for th boys) and went back after they called him over the summer to see if he could come back as one of the team coachs for the boys. But still that is a ballsy move to call me and see if I wanted to work there too.

You may be right on that as I feel she has improved over this past year especially in confidence which is where any Lacking was for her. Old gym made her feel like the bottom of the barrel and new gym made her feel like a queen. her whole feeling is 300% better and she feels she can succeed at anything in the gym even if it takes her longer to get it.

Yes, and a lot of gymnastics is definitely a head game. If she feels like a champ, she'll compete like a champ! I'm so glad she's found a place that appreciates her!

That is just bizarre (or the people there have some sort of memory loss). So glad that your daughter found a place where the coaches believe in her!
