She is telling you that you have talent. Don't know what level you are at or how old you are but I would guess that getting to the higher levels you might not be able to do because of time more than skill.
 
As the others have said, it was definitely a compliment.
We had a gymnast start in our squad when she was 15. She just competed level 3 (British) and came 2nd in her age group. Whilst she may never go elite as it isn't in her plan, there really isn't anything stopping her! If she came back after Christmas and said she would like to, we would make sure we tried our best to help her. Sometimes its not a bad thing starting a bit older! You are there because you want to be, and you understand much more about how the body works, and understand the more technical ins and outs of the sport!
 
I was 12 when I started. I compete the Canadian equivalent ofaround level 6 but I do a lot of uptraining. My coach doesn't have a lot of experience coaching teenagers, around here most girls move on to other things at 12 or 13.
