Can’t speak to our current gym but our old gym was 3 practices of 4 hours each. It was what worked with the other practice group’s schedules and I didn’t mind having one less practice per week. Our current gym does 4 practices of 3 hours for level 3s, and I would be annoyed to not really get time back in the evening and use up one more day.
Other gyms we visited did less hours but had bigger spaces and more efficient practices. I would have preferred that but it didn’t work out for us at the time. I noticed that there were also gyms who would say they did 9 hours a week for level 3, but you’d find yourself chatting at a meet with a parent at that gym and learn that the top athletes and scorers were in separate programs and were doing more like 16-20 hours a week in accelerated programs.
