Parents My 2 vaulters

This past weekend we went to the Smokey Mnt Classic. My younger dd competed Prep Op 2 and won vault with a 9.450!!

My older dd competed a piked Tsuk. If you remember she was performing a front-front, but the hc decided she needed to score higher so switched her back to her Tsuk. I thought it was a great vault, and so did the owner, but the judges only gave it an 8.95. Vault scores were not especially high throughout the meet, so I won't hold it against them (much, LOL). THANK YOU! Both the owner and I were scratching our heads over her score, which was only 3 tenths higher than some really sloppy/bad tucked Tsuks, which have a lower start value. In my heart, I knew it was a good vault.

Wow, your ydd stuck her vault perfectly! I wouldn't have even been able to make deduction, but I am no judge either, lol.

Your Odd's vault was lovely! I think she should have scored higher!

I'm not sure if your girls had the same vault judges, but I do know that vault scores in the level 4 group were also low. We were scratching our heads over that one. Great vaulting from your girls!

Yes I agree! That with a little bit of training she could open those pikes into layouts, because they are so strong and good.

Holy cow fantastic vaults from both of them. Those tsuks looked so easy for her and the front handspring.. gorgeous. Way to go girls!

WTG to both your DDs. I think they did a wonderful job. Congrats to your YDD for taking vault. And ODD def should have gotten a higher score. ( i have NO idea of anything about L9..but even a laymen can tell that was a low score.
