My son decided to join his university NAIGC team and they had their first meet this past weekend. He did 4 years D1 and loved every minute of it, but wanted to do more.
I was able to go to the meet, and can I just say, the JOY and FUN in these meets was amazing!! They gymnasts run it all. They spent hours setting up, and breaking down. The gymnasts all had so much fun. They were cheering for each other. Falls were generally laughed about. Scores were given, as were placements, but the general vibe was to just enjoy teh sport!
There were gymnasts from beginners to advanced for men, and 4 levels for women. It was just so much fun to watch every one of them achieve and do their best skills, with everyone cheering for them.
We loved every minute and are so glad he decided to do this. And he got to compete all 6 events!!
