Parents Program without all levels

Is it a red flag if a large, well established, gymnastics program does not have gymnasts competing in all levels?
Edit: they compete levels 3-10 but the current season don’t have any gymnasts in a mid level of optionals

Not necessarily. Some gyms start at level 3 or even 4, or Xcel silver, and some gyms skip Level 5 or 6.

It depends on which levels. Many programs don’t do levels 1 or 2, which are basically preteam. Some do 5, not 6, or vice versa. Not having any gymnasts above level 7 or 8 would be an issue if your child is trying to get to upper level optionals.

Sorry I guess I didn’t word that clearly. It’s not that they don’t offer the levels but that they currently do not have any gymnasts in a mid optionals level.

Not a big deal at all. Just happens sometimes. Next season they may have a lot of 7s.

I think it is probably fine. It might just the cohort that didn’t start or had a delay in starting because of gym closures during COVID.

This can happen for a variety of reasons, none or which are concerning.

It definitely is ok. It just means that in this specific year, no gymnasts happened to be that level. My gym has loads of level 4 and 5, and less level 8. Then, next year, we could end up with loads of level 6, and less level 4 (just an example). So no, not a bad sign for the gym, as the amount of people in each level will change next year, as some people move up and others will stay in the same level. Hope that was helpful!
