Athletic departments send staff to the main meets (ie DP Nationals) and they might also visit gyms with a lot of recruitable athletes. Club coaches may also talk to college coaches about athletes that might have the level/interest in competing at college.

Thank you! We still have a long way to go. So good to get the info!

Most level 9s that make it to Easterns/Westerns, Level 10s who make it to regionals/nationals, or elites usually catch the eye of college coaches (D2/D3 usually are really good 9s or 10s who don't make it past states or regionals (few national 10s), while D1 is mainly Top placing Regionals/National Level 10s and elites.)

Colleges are not allowed to reach out to an athlete to talk about their place on a team until they are a junior in high school. However, the athlete can send videos to a school or tag them with training videos from their social media.

Another way to get noticed by coaches is by going to their gymnastics camps (some are open to all levels, will some are restricted to around level 7 and up).

This thread might be of interest to you, with parents sharing some experiences, including a recent recruiting journey.

Can you give me some names of the camps? We have been to Pitt camp. My daughter will be a level 6 next season. Any advice on what camps would be good for her to do?

It's not a huge deal, but please use more descriptive thread titles (I clarified this one)

You can look up some schools close to you (or any schools you would not mind travelling to and is in your price range) and see if they have a camp that allows level 6s.

I am an xcel platinum this year, and I went to Kent State's camp last year. I enjoyed if a lot!
