Scottish mum

Hi all, just to introduce myself. I live in Scotland and i am mum to a 9 year old gymnast. Currently she is struggling with confidence and keeping up with her squad, which is having an impact on her in the gym. She is at a good gym, but unfortunately if you are not at the top you don't matter to them, which is a shame. She has now changed to a lower squad which doesn't push them as much, and in one way is a good thing, but now means she may likely never regain her place in the former squad.
Would like to hear other similar experiences and how you dealt with and came through them?
