Measure shoulder to hip (top of the leg opening) on the leo you want to put in the box. Then measure across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. If you have a lot of medals (more than 4) you would like to display, then measure width from end of one sleeve to end of the other sleeve. You can adjust how much sleeve you will show based on the number of medals you want to display.
These will give you the MINIMUM length and width for the shadow box.
Also measure the length of the medals (including the ribbon).
I like to have about an inch longer than the medals so I can mount the medals near the top and they don't hit the bottom.
I also like it at least an inch wider than the leotard measurements I suggested... so there is room for a couple medals and you can still see most of the leotard.
