Today my 13 year old, who has been struggling with who she is in the gym world (or at least it seemed that way), got her back tuck on high beam. She stuck it perfectly and I even got to watch. She has also decided to compete this weekend but just tell herself she's not. She is trying not to get worked up over things. I am hoping all goes well. It is our last meet for the year.

Congratulations and good luck to her. Hopefully, the back tuck will give her a big confidence boost. It should. That's a pretty cool skill.

Congratulations to her! A back tuck on the beam is a great skill! I myself can't wait
till I get there :) I really hope that boosts her confidence in the gymnastics world. Sometimes those little skills help our confidence the most.

She shouldn't get worked up over a meet. Gymnastics meets are just to show the gymnastics world what you can do. Sometimes the meets are good, and sometimes they are bad, but just remember that it doesn't help to get worked up over things. The times I have done my best are when I just relax and have fun. That's why I did well in level 4, because I didn't really care what I got. It was just fun for me. And it should be fun for everyone.

I wish her luck on her meet, and her future in gymnastics :D

Thanks for the suggestions from the mind of a gymnast. She decided to compete her back tuck at L8 and take the deduction just because she really wanted to perform the skill in front of judges!
