hi what does it take to get into Stanford gymnastics? is it hard?

what it takes is academics 1st. if you happen to be a gymnast of level 10 caliber or elite, you will be on the team if you can get admitted. same for scholarships.

Totally agree with what Dunno said. And the thing with Stanford is that they don't do the early verbal commits like a lot of the other schools so if you want to go the Stanford (or Ivy route) , you are basically foregoing an early sign with other schools to go there...with that said, if you academics are up there and so are you SATs/ACTs , you can get an early "read" from the coaching staff...which isn't binding in any way but lets you know whether trying for Stanford is something you should continue to pursue....what I mean by this is say you have a 3.9 GPA with multiple AP course and SATs in the 2000 range, well it might look likely to get in than if you have a 3.0 GPA and SATs in the 1600 range...

I'm going to see if we can move this thread to the College/NCAA forum!

But on topic, Stanford is known as one of the hardest schools to get into for sports because athletics aren't enough! Some schools, esp big states schools, being an amazing gymnast and doing ok at school will get you in. Other schools like Ivy Leagues, you can be an okay gymnast but a great student. Stanford is both! You have to perform at the Stanford level of academics which would mean a GPA about 3.0 and you have to have honors/AP classes. Also you'll need to have above 2000 on the SATs for sure. Then for gym you'll have to be around a L 10. If you are in this category, congrats you'll do great! If not, don't worry there are a million other schools that will be a better fit for you. How old are you? What level are you? Those things will help you decide which schools to look at.

Good advice. Stanford is very academically competitive. Also consider UC Berkeley [link removed]
