Hi. A few months ago I posted a thread about competing in Xcel Platinum. The previous year I competed Xcel Silver and last month I was sure that I would be competing in Gold. My coaches talked with me and said they thought I would do good in Gold or Platinum. We settled on Platinum and decided that a challenge was good for me, especially since this was my last year competing Xcel. I still have to score out Gold for the first meet but I'm really nervous about platinum I have some routines without 10.0 SV's and I would like some tips! Also, what would you say about skipping Gold?

What I'm competing for Gold:

Bars:
Kip
Backhip Circle
Squaton
Kip
Backhip Circle
Half turn Dismount

Vault:
Half On

Floor:
Round off Back Tuck
Front Handspring Round off
Full Turn
Split Leap Tuck Jump

Beam:
Cartwheel
Handstand
Full Turn
Split Jump Straight Jump
Front Tuck Dismount or Round OFf

What I'm competing for Platinum
Bars: (my weakest event) 9.7 SV?

Option 1:
Kip
Backhip Circle
Kip
Backhip Circle
Undershoot

Option 2:
Kip
Squat On
Kip
Clearhip

What would I do for a dismount? I don't have a flyaway unless I can learn one in 2 months so this routine wouldn't be great

Vault: 9.9 SV?
Half On Half off

Floor:
Round off back tuck
Front Pike or Front Handspring Round off Backhandspring
1 1/2 Turn
Split leap Tuck Jump
Something else

Beam:
Cartwheel-Cartwheel
Full Turn
Split Jump Tuck Jump
Front Tuck or Back Tuck dismount

I'm doing Platinum anyways so...

Unless you have a fear, you should be able to learn a flyaway in under 2 months.
Our team practices 7.5 hours a week and we have several girls that learned a flyaway in less than 2 weeks.
