Ok, I have been reading all the closed threads and thought I would take GT up and start a what we love about Chalkbucket thread.

I don't post much in the more heated discussions but I have to admit that I LOVE the more shallow threads like...what are you DD's fav leos and such!! (i do have a bit of a leo addiction) I also LOVE seeing pictures of everyones team leos!

I especially like the "she got her (skill) threads and the meet report threads because most "regular" people do not understand what a big deal that is and parents need a place to express this excitment! So KUDO's to the chalbucket for being a place that we can "brag" about our kids accomplishments!!

I love being able to come here and look at all kinds of gymnastics topics. I love looking to see what skills people are doing and what they have accomplished and all the different skills and country's and how everyone does stuff differently. It's nice to look around and see posts about how their child is doing and that they got this skill that has been taking them forever and love watching the videos. The one's I really love is seeing the posts about having problems with the skill any suggestions? I don't love it cause they are having problems with it I love it because then If my daughter is having the same trouble with that skill there are so many comments on ways to try to work on it and make it better. So far I have loved CB and I stay away from the Drama Posts. LOL.

i like this place and i'm glad to help out if those find my stuff helpful. it only helps those involved in gymnastics.

mdgymmom, you done with that coffee and dunker yet?:)

hey bogs, i saw that thread that was closed by gt. the one where you said "poop hit the fan". i think what you meant was poop hitting the back of the fan. and stretchguy came out the front...

I love CB because it is, overall, a very friendly forum. I have been to other message boards (gymnastics and other) where there are a select few popular members and the rest are almost ignored, that is not the case here. I feel like almost anyone who asks an honest question will receive a helpful answer. There are so many knowledgeable parents, coaches, and gymnasts who are so willing to share their experiences and ideas which have helped me tremendously as a coach. I love hearing all of the different view points, it is a great learning tool.
I love how the moderators are so diligent in making sure this is a fun and safe community. I am sure their job can often be a thankless one, so thanks so much Alexsgymmymom for starting this thread! And a huge thanks to all of the moderators for the incredible job they do and the great service they provide for all of us!

Besides being addictive I love seeing what other people get for advice because That can help me either in the current situation or in advance. I also love hearing what skills people have gotten, What their goals are and how close. They have gotten to achieving them. And the Leo threads....I have a nit of a Leo obsession myself

I have learned a lot about gymnastics!! We don't know much about the competitive level - JO, Prep Opt and such - since DD only started competing last as Prep Opt. So learning about JO levels has been great.

I love seeing that other parents feel the way I do about making choices for our kids and seeing that there is a whole world of gymnastics out there beyond our gym and our state.

I too simply stay away from the drama and try not too get too personal.

You can't beat this site for good, solid information!

I know that I don't post a lot. I stay away form the heated stuff and like someone else stated I like the fluffy stuff :)

I do love reading the posts and I can say that my eyes have been opened up about some things that our Gym does that I have always just chalked up to being normal. (not so much as I am finding out)

I also enjoy reading the "brags" (most of the time) and reading the posts from the parents whose kids are just now starting their team "careers" I often smile just remembering when my DD first joined team and how new and exciting is all was.

I think what I enjoy the most is reading about the struggles and then triumphs that the girls all eventually go through. It makes it easier when my DD has an issue just knowing that she will eventually come through it.

I, too, love the CB... I love the fluffy stuff, the brags...the advice, hearing different takes on a situation, skill problem, etc, from gymnasts, parents and coaches points of view...

I love to hear the similarities and differences in gym training and ideas from across the country...and different countries...so interesting!!!

My dd and I are both leo junkies, too...(and matching hair scrunchies/bows...gotta have the matching hair bows!!) I confess, I support her habit...gotta work on that! But, hey, she's my only girl out of four kids, so I'm happy there is "girlie" in her!!:D

Mostly, I love that I have learned the "proper" terms for their skills here, as I do not feel like a complete dunce when I hear the more experienced gymnasts and parents at our gym talking...well, at least I am current with level 4 skills...but I know that I can hurry home and look it up here if I hear a term thrown out there that I don't know! lol

Thank you chalk bucket members and mods!

What I love most about Chalk Bucket is that the people here have given me new hope that my future can involve gymnastics and it's not to late to train and possibly be a coach. I know it's a long way away since I want to train the levels I'd coach and I'm at least a year from being able to go to a gym but the people here have taught me how to get ready while I'm waiting. Now I know how to increase my flexibility and how to gain strength so that when I do go to a gym, I'll be ready to train.

I love the family we are here. I know you will understand what DD and family are going through.

I apreciate the advice coachs and judges have and are willing to share, It is great!

This spot over the years has helped me be a better mom to my gymnast and helped her through some rough spots.

I have also met and become great friends with a mom from here. We ended up at a bunch of meets together over the years and now have become friends outside of here as well as our gymnasts it is a great place to become friends.

Thanks Mods because of you we have a safe place to chat a our stories and conerns and brags about our gymnasts.

Keep it up

I love the coaching discussion and the threads on leos and hair! i love seeing the meet videos for tinies, so cute. I love to hear how some things come easy and some come eventually, some come and go and some never come at all. But hey that is gymnastics.

I love being able to come home from the gym and relax by reading and thinking about all things GYMNASTICS!!

If it has to do with gym it's interesting... period.

I also love the CB! I am also guilty as charged for the leo addiction. ;) My gymmies sure don't complain about it though!

I love reading the skills and drills posts, brag reports, watching videos and question and answer posts. I might not always respond especially if I would answer quite similarly to a previous poster. My favourite posts are those where a gymmie has overcome an obstacle of some sort. It is encouraging to see hard work paying off.

Gymnastics is a sport that requires so much of our time and often people outside of it don't quite understand. It is a blessing to have all of you to share with and have community with.

Thanks to the mods, you do a wonderful job keeping the CB a safe place for all. My gymmie can hardly wait to be 13 so she can join herself! :D

I'm somewhat new but already CB is my absolute favourite website. It's the first one I log into when I'm online. To me, when searching for gymnastics advice/info, this place beats Google every time!

I love it because the people on here are all so friendly... amazingly friendly. Like someone earlier said, other messageboards have some downright nasty people and cliques going on. Not here! It must be the gymnastics spirit :D

I love it because we all have something in common - gym! Which is particularly nice because not that many people know much about it, in my experience anyway. It's good to be able to discuss things like leos and skills and know what each other are talking about!

Not to mention all the helpful advice and information, the sharing of our achievements, the cute lay-out of the site, the support from the members and the amount of thought everyone puts into the answers they give to others. It just makes this site so amazing!

(It's also cool because if you said to a non-gymmie that you hang out at a website called 'the chalkbucket' they'd be like "the what?";):D)

As a new member here and a fairly new gym mum I love that every one here is so friendly and willing to give advice.

My two are just beginning their gymnastic journey, I don't know how far or where they will go on that journey, but this forum has already taught me that it is their path to follow and to just be there for the highs and the lows.

I love love love the leo threads :) and all the other practical advice about preparing for a meet/snacks/ juggling the rest of the family... stuff that only other gymnastic families would understand.

I agree with all of the above reasons :) The CB is a wonderful resource for me as well as a place to connect with people going through what I as a parent am going through and what my gymmie is going through. I too have learned a lot and take things is stride a little bit more than I did when Liv first began gymnastics. Its a long winding journey with LOTS of bumps along the way--but so worth it when I see the look on her face when she gets a new skill or overcomes a block. Thanks all for sharing this journey with us :D

What do I love about CB???

The fact that I can post a question & receive 14 EXTREMLY helpful replies, from all around the world in just over 24hrs:D!!! People, strangers(that don't feel like strangers, but far away friends instead), took time out of their busy lives to read what I posted & then took even more time to search the web & post extremely helpful links to my thread!!! And this generosity happens here on CB in numerous posts everyday!!!! The help, advice and support is AMAZING...unsurpassed:D!!!! The parents, coaches, judges & fans here are awesome! I can never repay all the help & support I've recieved here. But I try to give back & help others in anyway I can. That give & take is what fuels this wonderful community:D.

The mods, what can I say...you know I love you all:D!!! Thank you for ALL of your hard work!!! You make CB a safe, enjoyable place for us to spend time! CB would not be CB without all of your tireless efforts...thanks just doesn't seem like enough! But I do thank you from the bottom of my heart:D! Especially for not reprimanding me for my constant over use of smile icons:D!

And of course ALL of the gymnasts are beyond AWESOME!!! We are here because of them & what they do day in & day out:D!!! Keep it up gymnasts...we adults learn from you everyday!!! You amaze us on a daily basis with your determination, focus, skill & just plain old hard work. You make defying gravity look easy, when we KNOW it's anything BUT easy!!!! Soooo proud of ALL the gymnasts(from tiny tots to elites & ALL levels in between:D), proud beyond words:D!!!!

Yup, I admit I do love this community...but I'm afraid I may need a 12 step program if my addiction gets anymore out of control:p,LOL!!!

Wish I had found CB 5 years ago...

I would have saved myself a lot of grief. I totally believed anything the coaches told me and did not question them. For example: I was told by a HC/owner that girls did not start competing level 4 until age 9.

I feel that you guys are like the more experienced parents and I can ask any questions and will get good answers.

I have learned so much about gymnastics. It is also great to see what gymnastics is like in other countries.

I like that other parents feel the way I do about making choices for our kids. It is truly not like any other sport in the way it affects your family life and it helps to see that most other parents are in the same boat.

What do love?? Oh gosh everything. I love that this is a place where we can post and have other families that understand the "gym lifestyle" and get it when we say gym stuff. I love hearing about everyone getting skills. I love being able to post and have coaches, owners and other gym professionals comment as well as gymnasts and parents.

Everyone here for the most part is friendly and kind. I just ignore the board trolls when they hit the boards which isn't too often and usually can't be avoided.

I love the online frinedshps that develop and seeing the YouTube videos of routines.

Most of all the Support of everyone its just priceless.
