Parents When will I learn?

Right on! Gymnastics is just not taken seriously, It is looked at as a "pretty" activity, not the hard core sport that it really is!!

Actually, it goes both ways. I find it hard for gym parents (even often more so) to understand or care about our other activities outside of the gym.

I agree, though sometimes it seems worse when it comes to competitive swimming and diving...unless they're in that "world" it makes no sense. I guess we can all be singleminded and narrowminded.

Although sometimes it is the people who are detached from the whole thing that see the big picture more clearly and it is us who don't want to hear the real truth

Non-gym parents can sometimes be the best devil's advocate if you know what I mean
