I've seen it before at meets under gymnasts listed as independent. If your kid is away from home, she can often train at a local gym as most gyms allow that.

Otherwise, you'd need to hire a local certified coach and I can't see any coach from a registered club being allowed to do that by that gym. Sounds like a headache.
 
Way back in the day I went to one meet on my own due to coaching conflicts. HC was attending an elite meet, and AC was on maternity leave. I had been injured mid-season and recovered, but had to go to one meet to qualify to states. Everyone else had already qualified. My coaches just had a buddy of his that had other girls competing be my "coach for a day". ;) I competed in CT and all the gyms are are friendly like that.
