What causes the back layout to burn out (slow down and almost stop rotation) over the top when doing RO backhandspring layout on floor. I know the answer to a lot of these post but I really love hearing other coaching tips and info just in case I need to look for other stuff.

BB; I included in my reply to your query about twisting my caveats to layouts. http://www.chalkbucket.com/forums/threads/twisting-going-from-full-to-1-1-2.44833/ . Check it out as I included tight gluts, what I call Smart Butt, and lifting the chest as important to completing the layout salto rotation. This said, we know that any loose body shape after rotation has been initiated will slow the rotation.

Hopefully this has contributed. Best, Eric -

Being less than rock solid tight from toes to arms during the punch/block. If you have the robhs speed to do make it with a tight block/punch the rest will be easy and look very calm in the air, and that's what you want for twisting.

flip flop needs to be higher so that it is light on the hands, feet under the hips on the punch so that take off is 'whip to set' facilitating rotation as it leaves the floor, then rises and then travels a bit. up/down is no good.
