So we got the first meet schedule for the Bogs today, it couldn't be any worse if they tried hard.

SO both the Bogs will compete at 6pm on Friday the 18th Dec. SO they will have to leave school early as the meet is 90 mins away on a good day, and it may or may not be a good day! They are both in different categories and different age groups, but they both train with the same coach. But as they are the same time Bigger Bog will have to be with another coach and her three girls the same level as BB. Now that will make her unhappy as her own coach is just fab with her.

Bitty Bog will be with her own coach, which is great for her.

Now the really dumb bit, the gym the meet is at is on two floors, vault and bars on one floor and beam and floor on another floor and we have no idea where trampoline will be. SO both me and hubby will have to go and see just the apparatus on one floor. The girls don't know yet and will be so dissapointed. They love me to watch, but it's going to be impossible to see all 10 routines.:eek::(

THis is the first time this has happened, there is another family in the club with the same issue and it's going to be tough for the girls not to have their parental support!

Send me zen fairies, I need to let go of this before I taint the kiddies!:D

That stinks.I know dd had to compete at a meet once with a coach on her side she just did not feel comfortable with. She did ok though.
I would make shure and tell the kids that only one of you is able to watch a few days before the meet so they are prepared for that and don't stress.Maybe somehow you can videotape both kids and just watch it together as a family after you get home.Maybe get another parent to tape one of them since usually a family has only one camcorder.
We got our schedule too and all the meets except of 2 are on weekends that I'm working. Will have to do some trading which just messes up my schedule to much and ir very tiresome.
Will send you all the fairies from here.Good Luck.

That really does stink! I hope you can video both and watch later.

That really does stink big time!!! I like Hunde's suggestion though... let them know a few days ahead of the meet, and then videotape and watch together at home!!! Katy always loves to watch herself on video anyway, and everyone can share at the same time!!

Good luck working it out this season.... I'm sure everything will be just fine with lots of maneuvering on your part!

Awwww man! PEEEEE UUUUUUUU!!! You're right--they couldn't have made it any harder for you. UGH--I'm sorry...what a bummer. I do like the recording idea. I have never heard of a meet being on two floors--that's kinda weird. Well, I hope everything works out and keep us posted as always. Zen fairies on the way!!!!!!!!!

That STINKS!! Maybe one will be at the beginning of the rotation and the other the end so you can run back and forth! I will be sending Zen fairies your way!

Ha, just to add to the fun, it is also modified capital cup, which mean they warm up and compete at the same tiem. 3 warm up one competes, two warm up one competes, two warm up one competes! SO no down time to sneak off.

Good news is the coach has hired an extra coach to watch Bitty Bogs group whilst they are on tramp so she can be with Bigger Bog on bars and maybe even floor. THe coach is not happy about it at all, but is trying to do a good job with a crap schedule.

We will definitely do the two video thing, that way we can all share the joy!

One of the mom's at DD gym will be dealing with that this weekend. She has a L5 and L6, both are scheduled to compete same time at Christmas on the Chesapeake. The two gyms are divided some large black curtains usually, so they will be staddling the curtains. The have to borrow a video camera in case they are competing the same time so mom can tape one and dad can tape the other!

Good luck to you. Hope it works out okay.

Wow Bog, that really is a crap schedule !! I am sorry. Maybe it won't be as awful as it seems :)

That really stinks. I hope that the girls will be okay with it all and that you will, too. At least you can video both girls routines so you can watch whomever you didn't get to see. Hugs to all of you.

Bummer! When our gym has 2 different rotations, they will sometimes talk to to meet directors to see if anything is possible to change. Not sure how it works up there, but maybe they could try. :o

Sounds like a crazy busy weekend for you and your dh!

Geeeeez, talk about last minute! Welll, sending those zen fairies Bog... and sending best wishes to both Bog girlies! Rock it!!!!!!!!! how is T doing these days? I am sure you have updated, but I don't read as much as I should....

Wow, that stinks! I agree with the others that you should record both girls and have a family Movie Night and watch the meet! That would be fun!! Best of luck to both bog girls!!

We'll definitely be recording it all. Bigger Bog was not happy last night about the whole thing, but I will talk to her coach as she is great about confidence boosting.

Bigger Bog started tumbling last week after her injury in July. She has her ro bhs bt and ft back and looking good and has vaulted a couple of times. She has grown some more and is now about 5'4" so that adds to the learning curve. She will compete as a specialist which is very good for her as she has strengths and weaknesses. Hoping she has some time to mentally adjust to her coach not being there for her and that the other coach really tries hard to help her during the meet.

Forunately this should be the only meet of the 3 that this happens at and she only needs two good meets to qualify to provincials. Her category doesn't have many girls in and that is never bad!

I know I've heard this before, but I've forgotten. What do the girls in Canada have to do to qualify for Provincials? Anyway, sorry about the rotten schedule, I hope the Bitty Bog's do great at the meet!

The girls are both in the circuit regional, say that with a French accent and it'll be perfect! They do three meets to qualify. Points are awarded for placements and the girls with the most points get to go. 1st place will get 10 points, 2nd gets 8 points and so on. Not placing gets 1 point.

For Baby Bog the top 3 AA go on all 5 apparatus, they do tramp too. Then also the top 3 on each individual apparatus, after they take the top 3 AA's out. These will be held two separate times at the Provincials.

For Bigger Bog the top 3 on each apparatus go, there is no AA as she is at the specialiste level and not all the girls compete 4 or more apparatus.

For either of them, unless Baby Bog places top 3 AA, they can compete 1 or all of the apparatus. A bit confusing. This means that not too many girls get to Provincials here as it is not based on your score but your placements.

Thanks, not really sure if I'm more or less confused:p Seriously, though, that did help. I hope the both qualify and have a great time at the meet!

Boy o boy that stinks!!! It was bound to happen with 2 girls in the same sport.Movie night sounds like a great idea.Best of Luck to them both!

I'm sorry. That's really sad. But do you also compete on trampoline at meets that's kind of unusual.

Yes they do tramp as well. It is just in our regional circuit and is for gymnasts that train less than 9 hours a week. Though to train all 5 in that few hours is a bit of a challenge.
