Hello, I am a platinum gymnast and recently just got back to the gym after an overuse injury. It is not 100% quite yet, but I am really wanting to get back to doing stuff other than basics. Right now I am doing simple basics that don't involve my elbow (which is what I injured) like front tucks and standing back tucks. I went back a day or so ago and my elbow is not feeling the best and I don't know if I should take another week off until it is just about 100% or just continue with basics for the next couple weeks.
Thanks in advance

Two answers:

First, for any medical advice, you should talk to a qualified doctor who has formally examined you.

Second, when it comes to injuries it is generally best to err on the side of caution. You'll set yoyrself back much more by reinjuring it than you would by waiting an extra week or two to push it.
