So excited for my boy! He had nationals this past week and did a great job!

Day 1 was a bit rough.....He did well, but fell on vault and pommel. he was bummed because he really wanted to do well on pommel especially! He had a blast competing on his region team though! loved it! They had a blast. Gave the arena a college feel! Ended up with his region in 5th and he was heading into finals in 10th aa, 9th on floor, 5th on hb, 1st on pbars.

Day 2 was better. He was consistent over all. Did not fall on anything. Hops here and there, but consistent. Missed his planche on rings a bit (got element group credit but was deducted too). Got to pbars. needed a 13.2 to win. Beautiful routine...with a small hop at the end. He lost .3 on the hop (.1 for the hop, .1 for the stick bonus, and .1 for the fewer than whatever deductions). 13.0. 3rd place. He was a tad sad about that.

However, when all was over, He placed 9th on floor, 12th on pommel (no medal but a great comeback!), 3rd on pbars, 3rd on high bar (which cracks us up!), and 8th all around. In the nation! we are pretty proud of him for all the work he has put in.

Of course, team pictures are tomorrow....so we are getting everything washed up for that lol

Videos...if you are bored ;)

Day 2:

I just showed my 9 yo the videos and he said, "I hope I'm as good as he is some day."

Awww. That is so sweet. Can't wait to see him doing these skills!!
