We got an old set of uneven SA bars but the wood is pretty worn down, they are very slippery. Is there anything we can do besides replacing the wooden bars? Can we sand them down?

It's a safety issue. I am sure something can be done , fund raiser etc...I'd love to get new bars but can't. We are non-profit gym and I've already used up the budget for the year...trying to make do with what we have :-(
I second a fundraiser… also, contact any clubs within driving distance (they may have rails in better shape than yours that they are replacing anyways)… maybe they would donate / sell them to you at low cost. It's a safety issue. I am sure something can be done , fund raiser etc...
Please don't make do with slippery bars! When a gymnast peels off, it can get ugly really fast. It is a huge safety issue. It's a safety issue. I am sure something can be done , fund raiser etc...
