Anyone have any recovery stories for a stress fracture of the tibia?

Not as a gymnast - I had one as an adult from running - it healed completely and (knock on wood) has not bothered me since. I do think it depends on WHERE on the tibia the stress fracture is - even in the same bone, a stress fracture in one area may be more serious than in another area.

Was the stress fracture at the growth plate or somewhere else?

The doc suspects my daughter has one in middle of chin bone

My DD, no longer in gymnastics, had a stress fracture in her shin this spring during another sport season. She was out of sports for approximately ten weeks. She swam mostly during that time. She made a complete recovery.

My dd had stress fractures in both shins. She was on complete leg rest for 12 weeks, followed by modified leg use for a month as she worked back up to speed. She has now made a full recovery.
