Hopefully not we are taking a 3 week long trip this summer. DD struggles with flexibility so stretching will need to happen. She is repeating this year so she should solidly have all her skills. We've always been liberal about taking days off but never taken a long stretch like this before.
We haven't had to do it but our coaches will have rotate out on their strong event to do homework. Obviously this is not an all the time solution but it works well for extra hard nights. The MS and HS girls all do PE through the gym and either get out of school an hour early or do study hall...
Just a leo. I have trouble getting DD to even throw on shoes to go to the gym even dead of winter . The girls are allowed shorts over during practice and whatever they want for warm up.
Our coach moves our kids into their expected level group more or less as soon as season ends. Basically first of may when the new girls join. Every girl has a skills chart with the required skills for that level to check off as they are mastered. If they haven't checked off 90% of the skills...
We did bronze not level 2 but yes my older DD had terrible scores in the beginning. Just tons of little deductions she would put her foot down and break connections, go over time, pause and think etc that would seem tiny but can add to be huge deductions. All of it worked out she squeaked into...
Yes I would but are team is just not that intense their have been times DD has wished we did more. But I think having no expectation of getting to any particular level has made it much more joyful. Nothing else has ever challenged DD at everything else she has been clearly been the best or...
Best meet ever was the one we were able to take the train to it had a wine tasting. Than the hotel where the meet was had a cocktail hour that just happened to fall during our open warm ups.
I was so happy to be offered a used comp leo this year!! They are supposed to be on a cycle but for various reasons we have never gotten to use the same leo for 2 years.
Our bags are an extra leo, extra hair ties/bobby pin, water, easy snack, flesh colored tape and grips if they have them. They will put their warm ups and such inside them. I have never seen a kids have to use the spare leo but I guess the coach has.
Team ending early at 5:30. Rec is still open kids who miss can do make ups but enough kids show up to make it worth it. We won't be going at all since DD already goes late on Wednesday so its not worth the drive.
Those rules should apply to other sports as a former player and coach I've had many parents ruin their kids soccer experience. By being over critical over bearing pushing a extra practice at home or with camp after camp etc. As a goalie fears are very real it takes serious guts to rush head...
I think it is natural as they get older and deeper in to the sport their other friends don't really get it. I have noticed DD9 talks a lot less about gym in general than she did when she was younger/lower level. Now gym is hard almost every day and nobody knows what the heck the skills are anyway.
Mine was 7 before she realized standing on the boxes was winning she thought the people who got the raffle baskets won. I would prepare more for what you will and will not buy at the meet. To stay with the coaches until you come find them at the end. That yes she can ask to use the potty. What...
Not in our experience if we are driving we will book hotels with 24hr cancellation policies for the whole weekend and than cancel what we don't need. If we are flying we just plan for a long weekend and plan to enjoy the area.
We got a new building and today was the first practice. Everyone was so excited it is so much bigger the kids went a little nuts. It has a great new viewing area for us parents to.
I always wondered how some of the working parents pull off summer schedule. 8am-12 isn't terrible my DD hates mornings.
I can't believe some of your state laws here my 11yr old is a certified babysitter. They give free bus riding lessons at 10 so kids can get around town.
