    Parents Gym car

Full size suv with modifications for better gas mileage couldn't be happier. Plenty of room for kids and friends if they need a carpool to practice or comp.

WAG Can I post this? 3yr old gymnast on Ellen

Clueless Parent: My child loves gymnastics. She just flips around the house all day. Bad Gym: Yes clueless parent I can see that. She is special and very talented. (With a grinch smile)We can make him/her a star here at our facility. We only require your child to be potty trained to join any...

WAG Can I post this? 3yr old gymnast on Ellen

I haven't seen as much as other parents but if you can use that kind of form to perform a skill ....YES...It's very average to me. I hate to have to compare her to other kids I have seen but it's true... maybe it's the coaching and kids we have at our gym. And they only do 2 days a week 1.5 hrs...

Parents Another what do you tell your gymnast thread

Hmmmm.... Congratulate her and give her praise for her accomplishment for where her current ability to perform the flippy thing is. I'm sure in her heart she went from not being able to do something to WTF was that. No matter the age, and level I will always teach DD there is room for...

    Parents Backhand springs!

Sounds like she definitely needs more drills and practice on the barrel to get the right body position and arm placement. Safety over learning a new skill because if she gets hurt. She...

    Parents Compitition class+commute+young gymnast

We have about the exact same schedule now. DD has 2 meets left this season for lvl 2. But My DD has little bit more time to let food settle. IMO especially when you are on short time restrictions it's important to ensure her diet is properly maintained from breakfast to dinner. It could be a bad...

Parents Too Much, Too Soon? Level 2

Personally I think 12 hrs a week at lvl 2 is a bit much but every gym is different. If your talking about a LARGE team I can understand the more hrs. Gives the coaches more time to work with the kiddos. Try to establish a good relationship to trust the coach will put your gymnast in the best...

Parents Is parental jealousy for real?

Is the sky blue?? Well there is your answer and it's very sad. Especially when the kids become friends in the gym after they spend countless hours practicing together. The parents get that look on their face when it's time to leave and see their DD making friendly conversation with the kid they...
