My DD is Grade 10 at Level 8 at the moment. Been doing varsity gymnastics since Grade 9. This year, she tried Spring Flag Football. She is really loving it.
But it's not all roses. Her first week of try-out/training in flag football was same week as State champ for gymnastics. Her soreness...
I hear you. My DD trained in Canada up to Level 6, moved to the US for HS at Level 7. Competed Level 8 at Grade 10, and was just leveled up and training for Level 9 coming into Grade 11. Her teammates in Canada had same progression as her, but I am not sure if they are moving up to Level 9 this...
My DD is in 2nd yr doing HS gymnastics, NYS. They teain everyday for 1 and hapf hour, she goes straight training for her club as soon after 3 days a week. Her coaches is okay with that as she is still doing gymnastics. It helped her with some skills, but some skills she gave to add as she is not...
My daughter is in her 2nd year in HS gymnastics this year, and on L8 at club. She enjoys meeting other gymnasts, and competing with her HS varsity team mates (they go to different clubs). They were 7 in the team last year, with skills ranging from Excel Silver - Level 9. They has the whole team...
My DD trained in Canada for 7 years, left at Level 6, training for 18hrs at $450/mo canadian.
I think it will depend on where u are located. Tho we are in a big city, but not metropolitan like Toronto. It gets pretty pricey when you are in a bigger metropolitan. Our gym produces eastern...
It has been a struggle with the communication because she is pretty new to the gym ( transferred from a different country last year) and she is not that kid who likes to discuss stuffs with her coach. More on a shy kind. She just love doing gymnastics and being patient with what is given to her...
Thank you so much. Really really appreciate this. I will forward this to her.
For update:
She spoke to her coach and they promised to support her in every way they can. Also they have a new coach who gives her corrections and she is very very happy about it. Another coach also promised her that...
She can do yurchenko, and can flip it. Shes been told she's been ready to flip since L6. But she's been competing with tsuk ever since. I've never seen her compete with a yurchenko. She found herself with less height after working with yurchenko. And I think this is what is frustrating her...
She is more like this. She's been told by her coaches that she's ready to flip it since Level 6. Her power is sometimes scaring me, but I know that her coaches back then (she moved from a different country to the US) really insisted for me to put her in a gym and when I second guessed and almost...
My DD just started training for Level 8 this week.
She has been doing tsuk for her vault entry (right when she started optionals), while the rest of the girls mostly do yurchenko.
Since this week, they'be been asked to do yurchenko, and given yurchenko drills. And she is getting frustrated...
My DD had a mental block 2 weeks before state. They just had their last competition and she fell on Bars, Floor and Beam. The whole season, she struggled on beam as she has a back walk over + korbut for connection/flight. All her state qualifier competitions (3), she either fall on her...
