DD has only ever been at one gym, so I'm trying to find out if what goes on at our gym is "normal." Our HC is also co-owner. Communication froM HC is minimal at best. Sure, she gets meet info out to us ( albeit not timely), but there's no communication regarding DD's progress, goals...
As a follow up. Yes. Our gym does have 9's, but no 10's. We have had level 10's but they are few and far between. Generally, we cap out at 9. We do have resi pits at the end of the tumble track, under the high bar and at the end of the spring floor strip. I just wonder if that is good enough.
Our current gym does not have loose foam pits. DD finished her level 6 season and is training level 7/8 skills.
HC is dead set against pits as she feels they are dirty.
Is it possible to train level 9/10 without pits?
How was U of MD? That might be a viable choice. We are in PA. Arkansas is pretty far. I have heard before that supervision at PSU isn't the best. DD doesn't want to do crafts. LOL. She wants gym time!
Has anyone sent their gymmie to PSU summer camp? My 12 year old level 6 attended a sleep away camp last summer; however, that camp will not be available this coming summer. I'm looking for other camps and PSU camp to mind.
How is the camp run? Do they get a lot of gym time? Did your gymmie...
Wait! If the whole floor isn't used, is there a deduction? I was wondering this exact same thing after DD's first meet last week. While watching her video, I noticed she only danced and tumbled between two corners (the diagonal) totally ignoring the other 2 corners.
DD is an level 6.
We r going this year for our first time. We are thinking about staying OFF Disney property. Has anyone done this before? Pros? Cons??
We r trying to make this trip as cost effective as possible.
The level 6's in our gym always do cartwheel back tucks while the 7's do the round off back tuck. However, DD does a lovely round off back tuck, so i was thinking of asking HC if she could do it this season.
