Hi!
So in the spring of 2015 I began having terrible lower back pain. I competed the rest of my optional season with the pain and then went to the doctor to get it checked out. I found out I had a para fracture, so I rested it for about 6 wks (as recommended by DR) and went to physical therapy...
My gym does a super fancy banquet every year. We have participation awards, then group awards, then dinner. We also do "coach roasts" where each training group makes fun of a coach (in a skit/video; this year my group is doing a rap). Then we have funny awards and dancing and a silent auction...
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend pop music bc after a couple months it becomes "dated". Stick with something classical-y but still unique. For example, my floor music is from "Amelie" and is dance-y and balletic without (hopefully) being boring and overused.
I competed level 6 last season.
I had a BWO and a BHS on beam (not connected). I generally scored in the mid to high 9s
On floor, I had a back LO and a punch front pike. Usually scored in mid 9s
I didn't have Giants on bars, but still scored in the low 9s anyway.
If it helps, I'm in region 1...
At my gym, we have a rotation schedule, but it's almost never adhered to. Usually, we spent about 45 minutes on floor and beam. Bars usually goes really long; people often get "stuck" on bars for over an hour. I honestly never do vault. I haven't done it in about 3 weeks (I realize this is bad).

I just think it'd be really hard for older gymnasts (11+) because they're starting to develop and have fear and injuries.
FOR EXAMPLE:
2013-2014 season I competed old 5 (for the second time), scored out of old 6 and did new 6.(I was 12-13) My coaches put me on track to do 7-8 this optional...
I love that my team and group is like a family. I love the feeling of getting a new skill. I love performing and medaling and winning. I love the special relationship I have with
my coaches. I love the good days where everything feels perfect and I feel like I can do anything.
I hate losing...
