Thanks! She did great, and medaled on Floor (a surprise). Got a black hoodie (has about ten thousand hoodies). And we're out of competition season! (yay!!)

    Parents Online score apps vent

Yes, they are all there now! It just seemed like a comedic conspiracy when we were trying to find out scores for other gymnasts we know yesterday. My kid did great and even medaled on Floor, which she was not expecting. I'm relieved meet season is over!

    Parents Online score apps vent

We got the start lists...she's just curious about some of the people she's grown up competing with and what their scores were. I haven't seen scores on the R6 website. Really I'm just venting about these online scoring websites! LOL

    Parents Online score apps vent

Grrr. We're in Region 6. My kid is competing tomorrow as a Level 9. She's been curious who else in her State qualified for Easterns and what their scores were. My meetscores.com has the Regionals meet listed, but no scores. Meetscoresonline finally shows the meet but only for Level 10...

    Parents Levels of gymastics

15 year old sophomore, Level 9. Probably will stay at Level 9 until she graduates. (In her words, she'd rather be a really good Level 9 her senior year rather than a mediocre 10)

Off Topic Introductions Thread (2025 Version)

Hi, I'm a mom of a Level 9 gymnast and I can't believe she's been at it for 12 years because that will make her almost old enough to drive and I am not ready for that!! I have another kid who is not an athlete at all and is driving and will be going to college next year. And I am not ready for...

Anon Tell me your crazy gym parent behaviors

Well! ....I came here to say that it seems the crazy gym parent behavior falls off at the higher levels...but maybe there's always one!! Seriously though....as the same kids get older and progress through the levels (and a lot of the ones with crazy gym parents drop out)....we're all rooting...

    Women Snow storm and meets

I would have said never about a week ago. But for the first time ever, there was a multi-day storm system sitting right on top of where the meet was, and even though most of the gyms that were going to compete were fairly local and the rest of us had rented hotels, they cancelled the sessions...

    Gymnasts Goals for 2025?

After three years of hard work and one year competing highschool gymnastics as an independent, this is the first year our high school has a gymnastics team, and she's one of the captains. So she has a goal of getting at least a 34 at States competing Level 9 (first year at that level) for her...

    Parents Question about age

I hate those automatic scoring things! They are so unreliable, plus in order to catch a score you have to stare at it forever instead of watching the meet. But rest assured, they've marked down your daughter's score. The judges are focused more on being accurate than pleasing us parents. As...

Parents Travel Distance for a gym

That totally depends on your tolerance level, and probably also who else you might have at home (ie other non-gymnast kids). I will say that no matter where the gym is located it's best if it is in an area that has access to decent amenities (like grocery stores or restaurants) so you aren't...

    Parents Underwear and leotards

Mine never did until she hit puberty. Now she does, usually with shorts for practice. Whatever is most comfortable!

Parents Journey to high school gymnastics

In our State the scoring starts at modified DP Level 8, but the skill levels of the actual gymnasts can vary from Level 9's to Level 1. It's a team sport, so like any team you put your best athlete on their best event and hope your team score is higher than the other team's. My daughter and...

Parents Working parents - not welcome ?? (Driving)

You didn't say how old your son is, but I feel this.....for the past 17 years (read: ever since my kids were born) working and parenting and transportation in particular have been issues. I question the gym's notion that most of the parents don't work or own their own business; at our gym, 97%...

    Parents JO v. Excel

Our gym uses Xcel for the lower levels instead of compulsories and then will sometimes have move up meets for the kids who want to make the switch to JO optionals (for whatever reason). It's a little less pressure and there's the fact that you don't have to listen to JO compulsory music all...
