I did have one where I and another mum was doing the majority and ayhirer was just doing it occasionally. She kind of moved around a few different groups for pooling and gave people gift cards to try and make up for it. But it was a bit awkward . Plus her kid would often be "too tired" to go so...
I work part time is how. And I help out others by driving their kids too, and then they drive mine home so I don't have to go back again. We live 20-30 mins away depending on traffic, school finishes at 3pm and gym starts at 4pm and goes to 8pm. I work 9.15-2.15 on gym days (and 9.15-5.30 on the...
Yes, if you want to hire out the rink for yourself it would be a lot, our old rink (1/4 olympic size) was around $200 per hour. But that closed down. The new one we go to I have no idea - but a 1 hour figure skating session (early morning and limited numbers) is $20 for an hour. Mainly my kids...
No guarantee she will be tall anyway. I'm 5'3" and my husband is 6'7". Our eldest is 14 so just about to stop growing, she's less than an inch taller than me. A few years ago she was one of the shortest in her group (all girls the same age). She's now the tallest (just), but the others just...
WAG level 5, 12 hours a week, $340 a month (Australian), so about $230 US, $310 CAD?
Plus comp fees are from about $100 to $1000+ depending if we have to travel (because we split the cost for the coaches time and travel too).
Though most are around the $100 mark, and there is usually only 3 -...
As a kid I always wanted to do gymnastics, like from about 3. We had a trampoline at home and I'd practise on that for hours, but I'd practise other stuff like handstands too. Finally when I 10 my parents signed me up for a recreational gymnastics class and I was very quickly moved to doing...
Its normal for trampoline. They never need to do cartwheels or back handsprings, so they don't do them. They go straight into learning flips after the basic positions and drops.
And they never need to do it on the floor so into the pit on on a trampoline is it.
They have different progressions...
Yeah, that sounds totally fine then. They do it for quite a while standing on the edge into the pit before they do it off a trampoline (how long depends on how quickly they get the technique right) - these are the drills to learn the harder skills. I've seen them do it from 4 in the 4-7 year...
Perhaps they are restructuring the training so they can have smaller groups and do less hours. A smaller group means less waiting around for your turn, and the same can be achieved in a smaller amount of time. This could easily be happening over summer where people tend to go on vacations.
And...
Not everybody is cut out for competitive gymnastics. Does she enjoy it though?
My eldest stayed in a rec class until she was 9 and then joined the competive program at 10. Before then she didn't like anyone watching her do it - but shes grown in confidence since then. She's not as naturally...
The are probably working on seat drop to front drop then - with doggy an intermediate step between to start.
i asked by daughter and she reminded me that they also starr learning flips from that position, especially when younger - the older kids go straight into it.
Do you mean flips into the...
Doggy position - i think thats just a descripter rather than an official move? Is she learning front drops?
Some teach front drops from the hands and knees (doggy) position first. I guess its a bit like angry cat, happy cat, stretchy cat in gymnastics - makes it easier for the kids to visualise...
She'll probably end up liking one more than the other at some point - so as long as you have the time and money, do both! One of my eldests team mates does both - she's competing level 6 in both WAG and trampoline this year (but isn't doing tumbling). It can get tricky if comps clash but...
Are they missing a part because they cannot do the skill yet or its just been forgotten or misinterpreted? Because sometimes they will compete a level that they may not quite have all the skills in if they can do the rest.
Surely there must be other options. I'm in Australia, but my daughter started rec gym at 6. After a term (about 10 weeks) they asked her to try out for the development squad but she didn't get in as "she wasn't strong enough". But they put her in a more advanced rec class instead.
She did 2...
