Thank you! I will look at mymeetscores. Is there anywhere I should be looking? I'll just go poke around the site. Yeah I figured their kids were all 9s and 10s bc the moms were confidently throwing around terms and how their kids were bad at it. Then I found out they were level 5 and 6. Maybe...
I think I understand. I might give it time (if that's they decide to put them in excel), and call a meeting with the coaches. There's negative gossip always going around. I don't know if that's the nature of the sport or not. Lots if parents negatively talking about their higher level gymnasts.
She's afraid of going down the wall and gives up and falls to to the side again. What are front limbers? Is there anything I can tell her of tips. I've heard it all comes from your gluten and core?
I'm really new to this team thing, so I'm sorry if compulsory season means something else, but they start competing in the fall, at least at her level. If that answers your question??.
The thing is, for a year she was on what her gym defined as "pre-team". They had a red white and blue level...
My 6.5 yo dd is not scared of much, but is scared of a backbend. She knows all she should do, but twists and falls at the end.
At a friend's house maybe 6 months ago, they were having a lot of fun and she did 10 or so of them...so it seems mental.
Their coaches just spot them and move on. Any...
Thanks for all the helpful information! I asked around and the gym doesn't have any level 10s. I'll look at the mymeetscores to look at the gym in competitions. There's a "more competitive" gym in missouri where a couple elite gymnasts trained before college (Gage gym in Missouri). However, with...
Thanks- her coaches are fairly unfriendly and don't have time to talk with you. They're too busy I guess. The gym has stuffed in more classes and the coaches seem stressed.
Anyway, after reading the posts, my only concern is that, after 2 of her coaches (from before team, much friendlier) said...
I've never heard of this before and it's creating a lot of confusion among the parents.
My daughter made team in May, along with 10-15 other girls. There are obviously differences in talent, though they all made team. We were told this summer would be to get to know each other etc.
I just...
1.DD is in the 2nd of 3 pre-team classes that lead to level 3. She's the youngest out there (will be 6 in mid January) so she doesn't quite get the body control or gratefulness.
She adores gymnastics but now also wants to do dance. I won't do it until next year as this is her first year of...
I didn't know that. That's what scares me about gymnastics is seeing all the "big girls" as my dd calls them, walking around with braces, getting concussions. The parents say "oh it wasn't a bad year, she just broke her collarbone and fractured her wrist"
Thanks. IMO (I hope I don't incite controversy here), she seems to humble brag about herself. So when she was talking about how she was the first to do this or that, I wondered why she didn't try for the Olympics. I wish women athletes would be able to build a social media empire based on their...
