I went to this camp a little while ago and actually loved it. Great environment, fun, I got new skills, made friends and felt really motivated. The only thing is, if your gymnast doesn’t do what she can to ask for help and get corrections, and apply them, and ask for spots, the coaches can only...
It sounds like aerials are perfect for you! I do Roundoffs and they hurt my feet so bad when I started but then you get used to it and now I don’t notice it! I would suggest doing lots of round offs on a line in a row with your feet how you want them and try to replicate that on the beam to...
I’ve been through that before, what I would do is breathe, do something else to distract yourself while you calm down, and then definitely talk to the coach. Explain what you think, but also be open to listening to what he/she says. Remember that there is nothing wrong with doing a Roundoff...
Ok, sounds like your really close, I think you just need more repetition now. LOTS AND LOTS OF REPETITION!! 😄 Also remember to finish your lip, completely and then cast. You got this, good luck!!!
Hey! This sounds a lot like me, it took me longer than usual to get my cast to handstand. I’m also not a coach, just a gymnast, but I hope I can still help!
I would just suggest: after your Kip, lean forward a lot, like a lot more than you think you should. Falling over does help when you are...
Hey! I’m a level 7 gymnast and I’ve been having a hard time lately especially with bars. I’ve experienced many injuries in the past couple of months but I don’t think that’s the reason I’m having a hard time. I feel like my brain is overthinking every little move. I think for so long before my...
Most college routines are scored in the 9’s, even with falls. I know that these gymnasts are pretty great, but some of these scores should be way lower.
Your low bar shouldn’t have any stops, there should be continuous movement. Really enforce the hollow and arch on your tap swings, because you are piking a little. Pay attention to knees and toes, and keeping your feet together. Your skills are looking great!
It depends if they are more tired at night or in the morning. You could pack gym and school bags at night or before school. In middle school, I use study hall, and P.E. exemptions to finish homework. If I have more, I do it before practice, in the car, or after practice if I have to. I eat...
I’m a gymnast, but I would say handstand holds against a wall, chin ups, press to handstands, or straddle sit holds, box jumps, sideways planks, duck walks, pit crawls, or frog jumps. You could also do timed conditioning and different conditioning exercises in a row for endurance. I hope this helps!
Thanks for all the help! I tried to use these corrections, and I now have a clear hip to handstand on the strap bar, and a better one off of a block. But when I try it from a cast to handstand on the actual bar, it feels so fast, it’s scary and I don’t know if that’s how it is, or if I’m doing...
Hi!
I’m a level 7 gymnast, and last year I completed a BHS step out on beam for level 6. I never quite mastered it due to a mental block. However, after missing both hands, my series was switched to something else.
I’ve recently realized that after I jump to go back into my BHS, my hips twist...
Hi there!
I am a L7 gymnast, and I have a clear hip in my bar routine. I have figured out the rest of the routine, I just can’t seem to figure out the clear hip.
When I go into my clear hip from my cast to handstand, it feels so fast and a little scary. I don’t know when and how to drop and...
