I was in your boat last fall. But my guy was 5.
Honestly his tryout was a practice with the other boys and they just wanted to see how well he kept up and if he was able to listen and follow directions. He didn’t even get to do his *BIG* skills which was a handstand forward roll and a back hip...
So cool, I had no idea they were all different. Our gym has a mix of spieth and gymnova. Mostly gymnova.
Question; how do they pick the equipment for major competitions I.e worlds, trials, cups etc if they’re not all the same. Im assuming this also goes for other equipment. Is this also the...
So I’m thinking about moving my kid to another gym. Not because of any drama or anything — purely because it has a more convenient schedule for me. You know, the one doing all the school/work pickups and drop-offs. The gym also has a pretty solid reputation, so it’s not like I’m throwing him...
Personally I loved it. He looks comfortable and that’s whats important. I also was never really a fan of the gymnastics uniform. Especially the pants. It’s a bit loose but I’m sure there will be some updates. Looking forward to the future
We have this bar. Although my kid’s in mag and doesn’t train front hip circles, he somehow teaches himself baby giants, squat ons, and lots of straddle pike dismounts.
All this to say the mag bar is very different than that bar however, he hasnt complained except for its not tall enough.
In...
That daytime program sounds like a dream—haha!
Right now, he’s training 7 hours a week, with two 3.5-hour practices. Honestly, I feel like the weekday practices affect me more than they do him at this point! But learning from your comment, I think having him eat dinner in the car will already...
I’ve been wondering how other parents handle weekday gymnastics practices, especially when they end late, like around 8 PM—even for the little ones! After practice, there’s the scramble of picking them up, heading home, squeezing in a shower, dinner, and trying to wind them down for bed.
My...
At my 5year old's first ever mock meet, I noticed that on rings, and high bar, he was the only one not able to do a hanging chin up and required the coach's assistance.
He's only been on team for 4 months, and did kinder 2 months before that, but I was wondering if there was anything we should...
On weekdays, it's about an hour drive for my 5 year old. From work, to his School to gym. I then chill somewhere (study, groceries, work) for 4 hours and drive him home.
Weekends, from house to gym, it's about 35 minutes each way.
I personally don't necessarily enjoy the drive. But he loves...
Im with you and in a similar boat. The sacrifices you’re making is definitely inspiring and your daughter will definitely appreciate it more and more as she matures.
Personally, currently on the same route and taking things one day at a time. Budgeting everything I can and avoid ‘convenience ‘...
This is not gymnastics related, but out of all of your kids sports, which one was the most expensive? My DS really likes soccer too so not impossible that we may venture into that one. Chess is also a pretty impressive extra-curricular wow! I wanna do that myself haha
