WAG Catching a bail/overshoot on bars

Hey everyone! My competition season is quickly approaching and I have almost all of my skills, except I can't seem to get the hang of a bail by myself. I have been doing them for a long time with spot and by myself with extra mats. But I have a hard time doing it by myself on the real bar, my...

    Parents Shoot over /bail

Does anyone know How long does it typically take to learn a shoot over from the time you start doing drills? And then how long from being spotted to doing it alone?

    WAG Bail/half shoot on bars

I have realized that when I practice my bail on bars I have a couple issues that seem to be impossible to fix. 1. my knees tend to bend when I first begin to twist but then they kick straight again. I know many people often have this problem but as much as I try to think of keeping them...

    WAG bail from horizontal cast

In a level 8 bar routine, does a bail have to come from handstand in order to receive no angle deductions on the cast? I thought I remembered some exceptions to the rule but can't find it except when doing the bail from an underswing.

    WAG Pak vs Bail

Are there advantages to one over the other? Is there a "type" of gymnast that is generally a better fit at one vs the other? Thanks!

WAG can you help me find a video of a bail with a extra half turn?

I was looking through videos the other night and came across either a L10 or an NCAA competition bar routine that had the gymnast do an overshoot/bail and in the transition from the top to the lower rail, she did an extra half twist so that she was facing the opposite way as a traditional...

WAG While competing on beam: What to do next when gymnast goes past vertical, and has to bail?

Hi Everyone, I have a level 4 gymnast who is getting comfortable with her vertical handstands in practice, yet is cautious during the meets, and doesn't quite hit vertical. She says she isn't sure what she is to do if she goes past vertical during her routine at a meet, and has to bail. She...

WAG Higgins Roll to Bail Value?

Does anyone know the value of a Higgins Roll? My DD said she was told it was a C. I saw one place online that said a B. She also said it counts as a release since you let go of the bars to regrip prior to connecting it to the bail. I just can't see this being worth much in her routine. Looks...

    WAG Tips for bail handstand....

So I can kind of do it... If you look at a video of me in slow motion I'm landing on handstand, I just can't balance in handstand like a lot of people. I just plop right over. I also arch a bit and I can't figure out how to keep my core tight. Any help? Please....

    Bail technique

Hey guys, I'm working on my bail for level 9 and I was wondering what the advantage of letting go one hand at a time is. Right now I'm letting go of both hands at the same time, but my coach is trying to get me to let go one at a time. I dont really understand it. What is the advantage of...

    overshoot(bail) to handstand

I'm working overshoots (bails) and I'm doing them really good, but there only to horizontal. I do them from a cast and go on the first swing (normally I do kip cast, but we don't want to have to worry about the board and stuff right now). How can I get it to handstand? Any drill I can do..?

    Pak vs. bail

My dd wants to learn a Pak. I've noticed though in JO and college, bails are more common than Paks. I was just wondering if the Pak is harder to learn/teach?

Coaches Proper way to bail/crash from a geinger or jaeger

Some of my kids are getting ready to start working on Jaegers on bar (front tuck/straddle/pike and recatch the bar). If they miss over something besides the pit, of course, they will go down face-first. What's the best way to land such a crash? I can't allow any of my kids to try the skill...
