Women Same music different routine?

My DD wants to use the same floor music as she had last year, but with new choreography. I feel like that could be confusing especially under pressure. Has anyone done this or is it not recommended? Thanks!

I personally have not done this, but one of my teammates did, and at a meet, she was in the middle of her routine and started doing the previous year's routine with this year's as well and then forgot the rest of her routine.
I would not recommend it.

I think it might depend on the age of the gymnast.

LSS (2025 grad) kept her music from 2023-24 and did a whole new routine to it for 2024-25.

The year before that (2022-23) she did 1/2 Gold and 1/2 Platinum. She used the same music for both Gold and Platinum with different routines. So in 3 years, she used 2 musics and had 4 routines.

For what its worth, I believe tiana sumanasekera has used the same floor music for the last 5 years with different choreo There is nothing wrong with doing it, it just depends on the gymnast
