on social media ive seen videos of level 10s saying they have a 10.1 sv. im just confused by this because is it only a L10 thing? i only see L10's saying they have a 10.1 sv so is 10 the only level you can have a 10.1 sv? and does this mean if their routine is perfect their score will be above a 10? sorry this is random im just curious lol

It is not a 10.1 start value. It is a 10.0 start value with a +.1 bonus added to the final average. NO ONE starts from a 10.1, and USAG has made it clear that no one starts above a 10.0. To get a 10.0 +.1 start value, they must have .6 in bonus AND an E acro on beam/floor or E release on bars.

Don't let anyone insist or tell you that it's a 10.1 start value. It's easier to say it that way, but it's misleading and wrong. It should be referred to as a "ten plus one" start value.

Yea, like others said its technically not a 10.1 start value, its just easier to say it that way. and IMO doesn't really matter. My daughter says 10.1 sv as do her coaches, either way, the max score is 10, but they can take a .1 step on a dismount for example and still get that 10.

They have to have .6 bonus plus an E still to get the extra tenth, or there are certain vaults that give you an extra tenth as well.

The E on bars does not have to be a release to get the +0.1, any E counts.

That's why we have to change the way it's said, because people think it's a 10.1 SV. It's just as easy to say "ten plus one start value."
