DS2 turned 5 in the summer and was on the waiting list to start gymnastics. This week he has had his first session and absolutely loved it. He had plans to learn to do a bridge and a back flip all in his first hour, but settled for some fun on the trampette!
Our club doesn't currently have a competitive boys team, but there is one coach starting to do specific boys training, so with any luck he will progress as the coach does. For now though it was just lovely to see a little boy so happy to be doing something he has wanted to do for ages.

My ds is six and thought he 'might as well' do gymnastics as he spends so much time waiting around at the gym for his sister.
I'm really not sure he's quite got the attitude though. Last week they were learning to run and jump onto a stack of mats, roll across it and jump off. He decided to wriggle inbetween the layers of mats and hide. Luckily someone spotted his feet sticking out before the first of the slightly bigger boys had his turn. Coach didn't see the funny side!
I do love watching the boys though. Such a good sport for them to be involved in :)
