Did anyone’s child struggle with finding handstand shape but later able to overcome it? Did something just make it click one day? How long did it take?
Backstory - Last year was my daughter’s 1st year in gymnastics (Xcel bronze). She did very well - placed 1st AA in her group at state. But she was held back another year to repeat bronze because she struggles with her handstand shape. She is itching to work on new skills (back handspring, etc), but isn’t able to work on anything new until her shaping is mastered. So she’s getting a little bored. I totally get that it’s a basic, fundamental skill and she has to master that if she wants to succeed in future skills. But I’m just wondering if she is still struggling with it a year and a half in, is it something she will always struggle with? Trying to decide if it’s worth it to keep throwing all this money into the sport :-/
